Amanda Nava was born in 1998 in Mexico City. Nava is an accomplished 22-year-old tennis player. She fell into art by accident while attending Saint Joseph’s University. As a double major in Criminal Justice and Art at SJU, Nava found that she could combine her passion for art with her interest in working towards a more inclusive society. After experimenting in various mediums from photography, drawing, and painting as well as graphic design, Nava felt colored pencil and acrylic paint best suited her artistic talents. Her own unique multicultural background identifying as a Jewish Mexican American, provides Nava with the insight to communicate clearly the concepts of diversity and inclusiveness. Fluent both in English and Spanish, Nava grew up embracing the traditions and customs of her heritage and her use of color in her work conveys this sense of cultural pride. Nava is a spokesperson and an active member on numerous athletic committees that promote the theme of diversity and inclusion through different campaign platforms.
